I am typing this article to discuss my own opinions on the potential closures of airport at doncaster robin hood airport.

I read the article and felt that closing a big airport is not ideal in my opinion and for people reading this article there are many reasons for this I do not always believe in black and white thinking.

I think some issues are more complex and having read article it seems rather strange as to why an airport that has modern building a runway and aircrafts also known as assetts to a business why all that would dissapear and the consequences to the tourism and travel industry overall. I think that closures do not make travel more easy or accessible it makes life alot harder for alot of people who may wish to travel in the future.

Not to mention the land that the airport is based on if the airport decides to close for good and things potentially pick up in years down the line it would be very difficult to obtain the same land and premises if they regret their decision and wish to re-open the only way this would be possible would be whoever buys the land then sells it back to them at a later stage.

Reading that MPS are looking into this matter and a consultation has begun to deal with this issue the problem is I can understand why the airline may wish to close if they are predicting profit will not be made due to current circumstances and also understand why waiting it out may not be impossible money wise. However if the airline could survive for a few more years then things may pick up.

I did consult my local MP to discuss issues about people not able to travel out of the UK I asked for the email to be sent to the previous prime minister and it never got so far to the prime minister.

I think my issue was a serious issue that affects many people and choosing not to do anything with it may not be helping the airline from being profitable.

I think other factors need to be considered such as the consideration of a new airport in the same area and how that would be more difficult if they sell up.

I believe Doncaster Robin Hood airport is a good airport to fly from as I have flown from there and the airport is alot easier to get on an aircraft compared to others.

Many people prefer these types of airports compared to jam packed airports.

Also the reputation of having an airport to the wider world is a very important part.

I think people fail to realize how important aircrafts are when being able to travel or if an emergency happened how are people able to fly abroad.

I think everything should be put onto the table at the airlines Consultation meetings and I think trying to resolve or identify major issues may help towards taking everything into consideration.

Market research from non travelers would also be useful to establish what people think as attitude and negative thinking or concerns about travel could be another major factor not to mention transport options and making travel easier and more promotional and marketed more.

It is sad to hear of a modern airport to be even considering closing however I hope that the airport gets saved and the land remains in place owned by the airlines group or airports group because at the end of the day the sad fact is once a decision has been made its very difficult to re-undo decisions and for an airport that is so important to people it should be taken seriously. Also I think the airport could work with government to ask them for financial help to see if its possible to keep it open after all an airport is not just a business it affects everyone in the country and governments have a keen interest in airlines airport and travel.
